We’re delighted you’re here & hope you enjoy your meal. Take in a bit of history behind our restaurant in the small perfect little Village of Goodfield.

In 1888 the L.E. & W. Railroad was built connecting Peoria and Bloomington. Local cattle farmers petitioned the railroad to build a siding and stock pens here so that cattle could be shipped locally. The railroad agreed and the village of Guthville was born.
Shortly after it’s creation in 1888 the village’s name was changed to Goodfield. The first business projects in the new village included a restaurant, a blacksmith shop and a post office. Route 117 was built between Goodfield and Eureka in 1930 and in 1947 the original Busy Corner restaurant was built. The village of Goodfield was incorporated ten years later.

The first Busy Corner restaurant was opened at the corner of Route 150 and Route 117. The restaurant changed hands several times and in 1977 was purchased by George and Randy Selvey. In 1988 Randy and Peg added on to the dining room, doubling the area and increasing the seating capacity of the restaurant from 70 to 96.

The changes to the original Busy Corner intersection helped drive the decision, Randy and Peg decided to build a new restaurant that you find yourself seated in right now. This restaurant has again increased the seating capacity of Goodfield’s favorite dining spot, this time from 96 to 160! But don’t be fooled by the new atmosphere, this is still the same Busy Corner, with that same friendly “small town” flavor, all our homemade recipes, weekly specials, free coffee and donuts on Christmas Eve and our homemade pies will still be made from scratch each morning for your enjoyment!

(Yes, the coconut cream will probably still be our best seller!)

We always look forward to serving you, whether you are a local customer, traveled a few miles to get here or you’re just passing through! If there is anything we can do to improve your dining experience, please do not hesitate to let us know!
